I installed the Hybrid SP-1/SP-2 Header today. To my surprise, all the pieces fit just the way the unmodified (SP-2) header fit. Or should I be surprised? I tack welded the header pieces while they were mounted to the engine, and the mufflers fully installed; all fasteners tightened.

The first sign things were going to go smoothly. The SP2 header hung like this when the rear cylinder was mounted and fasteners loose. It’s a bit of a flex to get the pipe up and around the lip of the exhaust port. But once it does, it snaps into place, giving you that solid, yet slightly moveable feel.

Why should I be surprised that everything fits just as it did before? Because it’s those pesky things that you didn’t think about; which show up when you are ready to install.

All nuts and bolts torqued. Fits just like it used to!
